About the role
As Assistant Manager at the Hornby store, you will partner with the Store Manager to lead a team of casual staff, help lift store sales and KPI performance, and ensure customers receive an outstanding shopping experience. The role is central to building an energetic store atmosphere and strengthening your leadership capability in a busy, results-driven retail setting.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the Store Manager to improve store results through sales targets, KPI delivery, and strong visual merchandising execution.
- Encourage and guide the team to achieve excellent sales outcomes and memorable customer service.
- Track store performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, recognising successes and identifying areas to improve.
- Manage rosters and labour costs to stay aligned with business targets and efficient operations.
- Coach team members, build morale, support ongoing training, and contribute to succession planning.
- Maintain stock control, store standards, presentation, and loss prevention practices.
- Ensure all health and safety obligations and relevant local and national requirements are followed.
Skills and experience
- Background in a senior casual, key holder, 3IC, or supervisory role within a busy retail environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and deliver strong sales and KPI outcomes.
- Hands-on leadership style with a strong bias toward action and problem solving.
- Clear communication skills and a genuine interest in coaching and developing others.
- Practical understanding of stock control and visual merchandising.
- Passion for customer experience and working with premium products.
