Job description
Job Overview
As a pharmacist, you will provide healthcare advice and dispense both prescription and OTC medications as well as non-pharmaceutical products. You will also oversee retail store operations and supervise staff to ensure sales targets, customer satisfaction, and operational standards are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain store readiness by ensuring compliance with internal guidelines such as staff appearance and proper storage conditions to enable smooth daily operations and a professional environment.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at the store level including loyalty program registrations to meet individual performance standards.
- Review and interpret prescriptions, dispense medication, and advise customers on dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions to ensure informed usage.
- Provide guidance on the correct use of medical devices (e.g., glucose meters), including sharing user manuals to ensure safe handling at home.
- Lead retail staff through performance management, coaching, training, and corrective actions to improve productivity and achieve key performance indicators.
- Monitor sales and customer satisfaction regularly through observation and reporting to meet targets.
- Handle payment processing and reconciliation in collaboration with finance, ensuring compliance with financial and legal requirements.
- Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable products to maximize satisfaction and sales.
- Manage administrative and operational tasks such as workflow supervision, staff scheduling, inventory management, logistics, price updates, promotion execution, and expense documentation following operational excellence standards.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and industry standards by regular monitoring and compliance checks.
- Advise on OTC medications for common illnesses after symptom assessment and guiding customers on appropriate action.
- Keep pharmacological knowledge current via workshops, publications, professional networking, and society participation.
Work Environment and Schedule
- 100% indoor work environment.
- Work six days a week with one day off.
- Working hours are from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM with a one-hour break.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, mandatory as per legal requirements.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic languages is required.
