About the Role

Durham District School Board is hiring a permanent, full-time teacher for a Grade 6 assignment at the Junior level. In this role, you will help build a positive classroom experience, support student growth, and encourage curiosity and a lifelong interest in learning.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach lessons that are aligned with the curriculum and designed to support student achievement.
  • Track student progress, evaluate learning, and share feedback that helps students improve.
  • Maintain a classroom culture that is welcoming, respectful, and inclusive for all learners.
  • Work with other staff, families, and the broader community to strengthen student learning.
  • Adjust instruction and learning resources to meet different student needs and learning styles.

Qualifications and Additional Information

This position requires Junior subject qualifications and a Grade 6 assignment. The role is full-time at 1.0 FTE. Candidates must hold an Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing. The stated salary range for the elementary permanent position is $53,352 to $119,967 per year, with placement on the grid determined by QECO rating and teaching experience. Pay will be prorated according to the FTE of the role.
