Job Overview
The role involves handling freight by loading, unloading, scanning, and sorting packages within the facility. Candidates must be capable of managing heavy items and working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight efficiently within the facility.
- Scan and sort packages accurately as per operational requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
- Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is advantageous.
- Good interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to complete all initial and recurring training successfully.
- Physical capability to lift items up to 70 pounds and maneuver packages weighing as much as 150 pounds with the use of proper equipment.
Additional Information
This designation has a Grade of 79. The hourly pay rate is $21.
This description provides a general outline of duties and is not exhaustive. Employees might be assigned other tasks as needed, must maintain annual accreditations where applicable, and work varied shifts based on operational needs. If employed in Quebec, bilingualism in French and English is required.
For positions requiring driving, candidates must hold a valid driver’s license appropriate to the class needed, with no more than two violations or accidents in the past 24 months. Selection considers driving abstracts, interviews, and driving competency assessments.
