Job description
Job Overview
This position involves serving as a Registrar in the Orthopedic Surgery department, where the core responsibilities include diagnosing and managing injuries and illnesses. The registrar is expected to conduct thorough patient examinations, collect medical histories, prescribe medications, and order as well as interpret diagnostic tests. Patient counseling regarding diet, hygiene, and preventative healthcare tailored to individual cases is also required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and accurately document findings.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide education to patients about their health status, necessary investigations, treatment options, and medication use.
- Promote health awareness and disease prevention strategies among patients.
- Order, review, and analyze results from patient investigations.
- Prescribe medications appropriately for patient care.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records in compliance with organizational standards.
- Comply with all Nahdi Care Clinics policies, procedures, bylaws, strategic plans, and regulations.
- Participate actively in assigned NCC committees and task forces.
- Adhere strictly to CBAHI healthcare standards.
- Foster cooperative and effective relationships with NCC departments, local agencies, vendors, patients, and families.
- Complete fire safety training and comply with clinical and departmental standards including attendance.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation to meet MOH, CBAHI, and clinical quality standards.
- Contribute to the professional development of junior medical staff.
- Apply evidence-based medicine in clinical practice.
- Integrate cultural, environmental, and prevalent disease factors into patient care plans.
- Support and participate in Continuing Medical Education through rounds, conferences, lectures, and journal clubs as assigned by leadership.
Specialty Responsibilities
- Exercise specific clinical privileges granted according to training, experience, skills, and Saudi Health Council guidelines.
- Perform specialty tasks aligned with clinical privileges.
Work Environment and Schedule
- Work is conducted entirely indoors.
- The schedule includes six working days per week with one day off.
- Employees work 8 net hours per day based on shift schedules approved by the department head.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from an accredited university.
- Master’s degree or fellowship in the related specialty recognized by a university or the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience post-Master’s degree or eligibility to sit for the specialty board examination.
- Active Registrar license in the specialty issued by SCFHS.
- Competency in office and healthcare information system software.
- Fluent proficiency in both English and Arabic, orally and in writing.
