About the role
Sight360 is focused on protecting and improving vision, and this position plays an important part in that mission. The Ophthalmic Scribe works closely with physicians in a busy clinical setting to support smooth patient visits, accurate documentation, and strong overall care delivery.
Position summary
In this role, you will help prepare patients and examination rooms, capture clinical details in real time, carry out selected diagnostic tests, and assist with patient flow. Depending on operational needs, you may need to travel between clinic sites and work overtime.
Key duties
- Carry out and record ocular testing such as refractions, lensometry, tonometry, visual field testing, OCT scans, topography, Amsler grid checks, muscle testing, pupil assessments, and similar diagnostics.
- Get patients ready for exams and help keep the visit moving efficiently.
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and physician conversations accurately as they happen.
- Support physicians during examinations and in-office procedures.
- Set up exam rooms, follow sterile technique, and coordinate testing and surgical-related needs.
- Relay physician guidance to patients and referring providers.
- Help with patient phone calls, prescription-related requests, and other general clinical support tasks.

Requirements
The ideal candidate should bring at least one year of experience as an ophthalmic scribe. Experience with retina care is a plus. You should be comfortable using an electronic health record system and have practical knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, medication terms, common equipment, CPT and ICD-10 coding, and basic ocular anatomy. Certification is preferred, though not mandatory.
Skills and abilities
This role calls for strong attention to detail, clear communication, solid organization, the ability to work under time pressure, and comfort handling multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word is also required.
Additional information
This is a full-time onsite position based in Brandon, FL. Travel between clinic locations and overtime may be required based on operational needs.
