The position focuses on keeping loan files moving smoothly before submission to Mortgage Operations, helping deliver a strong customer experience, and supporting business growth through marketing and administrative assistance.
What You’ll Do
You will handle a wide range of administrative tasks for assigned Mortgage Loan Originator(s) through the point where the application is submitted to Mortgage Operations. This includes following up with borrowers to gather required documents, answering questions about loan progress, and assisting operations partners with specific loan-related requests. You will also use provided marketing tools to help expand the assigned originator’s business pipeline.
Compliance and Registration
This role requires registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. The registration process includes a criminal background check and credit check. If you do not meet or continue to meet the NMLS requirements, including acceptable criminal and credit history, your offer may be withdrawn or your employment may end.
Location
This role is designated as U.S. home-based remote. The posting references Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri, with the primary location listed as Illinois, United States.
Required Background
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in administrative support work.
Preferred Experience
Helpful background includes strong verbal and written communication, the ability to juggle several tasks and deadlines at once, comfortable computer and software navigation skills, including Microsoft Office, prior sales support exposure, past experience as a Mortgage Loan Assistant, familiarity with mortgage processing and the full mortgage file lifecycle, and the ability to prioritize work across competing deadlines.
Benefits and Total Rewards
U.S. Bank offers a broad benefits package designed to support employees and their families. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; basic and optional term life insurance; short-term and long-term disability coverage; pregnancy disability and parental leave; a 401(k) and employer-funded retirement plan; paid vacation ranging from two to five weeks depending on salary grade and tenure; up to 11 paid holiday opportunities; adoption assistance; and Sick and Safe Leave accrual at one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 80 hours per calendar year unless otherwise required by law.
Additional compensation and reward programs may include incentive and recognition plans, equity stock purchase options, 401(k) contributions, and pension benefits, subject to eligibility requirements.
