Job description
About BNZ
BNZ offers more than standard banking services. The organisation operates in a lively, agile setting where teams collaborate to build forward-looking solutions around the idea of creating a better future together. People-focused values, flexibility, wellbeing support, and generous leave are all part of the culture, along with strong opportunities to learn, develop, and progress. Every day in the business brings something different.
About the Role
This position sits within BNZ’s expanding home lending function as a mobile Home Loan Partner. The role is based in the community, where you will provide specialist home lending guidance, form trusted customer relationships, and support people throughout the entire home loan process, from the first discussion and pre-approval stage to approval, drawdown, and aftercare.
The role is suited to someone with solid home lending background, confidence in identifying and converting opportunities, and an existing network that can be used to generate high-quality leads. Success in this role depends on being proactive, visible, and well connected, while representing BNZ in a way that strengthens trust, grows the bank’s mobile presence, and positions BNZ as a preferred home lending choice.
What You Will Do
- Create new home lending opportunities through your own network, referrals, and a strong local presence.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with customers, referral partners, and community contacts throughout the region.
- Support customers through the complete home lending pathway, from pre-approval to drawdown.
- Prepare high-quality credit applications and partner with internal teams to keep approvals moving forward.
- Respond to leads, uncover customer needs, and deliver a positive experience at every stage.
- Help New Zealanders move closer to their goal of owning a home.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a chance to play a part in one of the biggest milestones in a customer’s life: buying a home. Home lending is a personal journey, and you will be able to see the real impact of your advice and expertise as customers move from possibility to ownership. The role also offers the freedom to build BNZ’s mobile home lending presence across the region, backed by a respected brand and a strong performing team.
What Success Looks Like
- Strong experience in home lending, with solid credit knowledge and the ability to handle applications from start to finish.
- An established regional network and the ability to generate leads and build referral channels.
- A proactive, resilient, and relationship-focused mindset, with the drive to strengthen a personal brand.
- Sharp attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right the first time for customers.
- Good understanding of the local property market, including new builds, property development, and turnkey lending.
Mobility and Licence Requirements
Because the role covers customers across the region, you should be comfortable travelling and meeting people where it is most convenient for them. BNZ provides a company vehicle, and you must hold a full, clean driver licence.
Working at BNZ
BNZ is described as an organisation that genuinely values its people, its customers, and the communities it serves. The work is meaningful, with the chance to help New Zealanders achieve their goals while continuing to grow personally and professionally. Staff benefits include six weeks of annual leave, flexible working arrangements, wellbeing support, and banking and insurance benefits, all contributing to a balanced and rewarding career.
Team Environment
The Home Lending team operates in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, so the pace is energetic and the work is focused. Even so, the team is known for being supportive, generous, and highly collaborative. You will have the freedom to work in the market and build your own network, while remaining closely connected to colleagues who share knowledge, celebrate success, and help one another perform at a high level.
Additional Information
The official internal title for this position is Home Loan Partner. Applications will be assessed throughout the advertising period, and BNZ may close the role early if needed. The closing date is 09 July 2026.
The role is full time and based onsite in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.
The company states a belief that success comes through collective effort rather than individual work alone.
