Role Summary
This full-time Medical Coordinator role is based in the Dr. Phillips office. The position focuses on delivering high-quality clinical, medical, and clerical support within a healthcare setting. Prior experience in healthcare is required.
Schedule
The role requires full-time availability of 30+ hours per week. Working days are Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays as needed. The office operates between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, and the candidate should be flexible to support the team across shifts and coverage needs.
Key Duties
- Create a professional, friendly environment that supports a strong patient experience and helps the provider team deliver quality care.
- Support physicians during medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures.
- Document treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photographs, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures according to established processes.
- Stay aware of provider workflow and be ready to anticipate the next step in patient care.
- Prepare exam rooms before and after patient visits, including checking equipment at the start of each shift to confirm it is working properly.
- Give patients pre-care and after-care instructions when needed.
- Scan retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies daily, and notify the Head MA and/or General Manager when stock levels are low.
- Handle inventory tasks and restock supplies and equipment as requested.
- Take part in internal training sessions and continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience in dermatology is mandatory.
- Prior healthcare experience is mandatory.
- National Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
- Experience with EMR systems and patient scheduling tools is required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with general computer proficiency, is needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal ability, and organization are important for this role.
- Strong customer service and patient relationship skills are expected.
- Availability on weekdays and weekends is required.
