Role Overview
The Media Manager is pivotal in ensuring the success of digital media campaigns, overseeing the entire process from strategic planning to hands-on execution. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and practical buying expertise, focusing on developing and implementing innovative media strategies, leading a team, and achieving outstanding client outcomes. The Media Manager will serve as a key marketing advisor to clients, offering strategic direction, nurturing relationships, and ensuring efficient media investments.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the complete campaign lifecycle, including initial strategy development, client consultations on media approaches, platform specifics, and ad operations to maximize return on investment.
- Conduct hands-on buying, manage budgets, and continuously optimize campaign performance.
- Formulate and present comprehensive, data-driven media strategies that cover planning, execution, and optimization across various digital platforms to meet client objectives.
- Ensure the effective execution of media plans, proactively identifying performance enhancement opportunities, resolving issues, and managing relationships with ad technology vendors.
- Prepare key deliverables such as quarterly reports and performance summaries, and monitor campaign progress to extract insights and implement data-informed optimizations.
- Deliver exceptional client service through proactive communication, strategic advice, and the development of robust client relationships.
- Lead and mentor a team of Media Analysts and Senior Media Analysts, fostering their professional development, a collaborative atmosphere, and high-quality output.
- Supervise team performance, manage deliverables and workflows, and implement process improvements and structural optimizations to enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including Insights & Strategy, Creative, Project Management, and Analytics, to craft integrated omnichannel media strategies.
- Contribute to agency growth by identifying opportunities to expand services for existing clients and by onboarding new clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with media vendors and cultivate partnerships with platforms, publishers, and brands.
What You've Got
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a media agency environment, with a proven track record of managing and executing campaigns across digital platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and buying across a diverse range of digital media channels, with significant expertise in most of the following: Social Media (Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok), Amazon (AMS, Amazon DSP, AMG), Programmatic Display/Video (e.g., DV360, The Trade Desk), Publisher/Partner Direct buys, Connected TV/OTT (e.g., Roku, Hulu), Digital Audio (e.g., Spotify, Pandora), and Paid Search (Google, Bing, Amazon).
- Proficiency with analytics, attribution, and measurement systems such as Google Analytics and third-party verification tools (e.g., MOAT/IAS/DoubleVerify).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify opportunities and propose effective solutions.
- Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, V-LookUps, and macros, along with the ability to operate effectively within various ad platforms.
- The capacity to clearly and concisely present complex information and derive actionable insights.
- Proven ability to provide constructive feedback, champion the team, and communicate with directness and empathy.
- Capability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently.
