Role overview

This full-time Meat Cutter position in Waterloo, Ontario is centered on preparing meat products, serving customers professionally, and keeping the meat department organized, safe, and aligned with company and food safety standards.

Key duties

  • Assist customers in a courteous and helpful manner while addressing their needs.
  • Prepare meat products for display and sale.
  • Handle merchandising of the meat section when required.
  • Keep the meat department clean, orderly, and well maintained.
  • Receive and manage incoming meat orders.
  • Fulfill special meat product requests from customers.
  • Take part in ongoing learning and professional growth.
  • Follow company meat standards as well as Canadian Food Inspection Agency requirements.
  • Apply all relevant company policies and operating standards.
  • Carry out administrative tasks as needed.
  • Train new team members and clerks on technical aspects of the role.
  • Support the Meat Manager or second meat clerk/department functions when needed.

Qualifications and experience

  • Strong working knowledge of meat department operations and practical skills.
  • Ability to perform well independently in a busy, fast-moving setting.
  • High school diploma.
  • At least 12 months of relevant experience.

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position is CAD 19.50 to CAD 25.50 per hour, with final pay determined by location, experience, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
