Job Overview
The Material Coordinator is responsible for managing and expediting the flow of materials within and between departments according to the production schedule, ensuring seamless communication with all parties involved. Key tasks include reviewing and issuing Material Requisition (MR) and Purchase Request (PR) documents in the IFS system, dispatching appropriate materials as per the Material Take Off (MTO) for the scope of work, and verifying correct material grades, thicknesses, and quantities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Acquire proficiency in MR procedures within the IFS system after training.
- Understand and comply fully with the organization's integrated management system and health, safety, and environment (HSE) protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor material shipments closely to guarantee the availability of required items in the warehouse, maintaining regular communication with the Warehouse and Logistics teams.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure timely and accurate movement and handling of materials to the production units.
- Liaise with department managers to uphold accountability for all materials and safeguard sensitive material and consumable data, collaborating closely with the Construction Quality Coordinator.
- Provide weekly updates on the status of materials.
- Work collaboratively with various departments to manage material flow efficiently.
- Partner with cost control and engineering teams to maintain up-to-date Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and ensure bulk material quantities align with official engineering MTOs and drawings.
- Process all necessary MR, PR, and other documentation related to materials, consumables, and PPE for the respective discipline division.
- Quickly adapt to changes in IFS settings impacting daily activities without disrupting the flow of materials and consumables.
- Ensure adherence to relevant information security policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Technical Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Relevant prior experience in material coordination, preferably within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or related sectors.
- Minimum of six years of experience within the oil and gas construction industry.
- Training certification in IFS or a similar ERP system is advantageous.
Language and Communication
Fluent English communication skills, both written and oral, are essential. Proficiency in Arabic and Hindi is considered a plus.
