Job description
The opportunity
This casual matchday role is focused on delivering prompt first-line IT assistance across the club’s operations. You will help keep hardware, software, and network problems moving toward resolution, while also supporting the setup, configuration, and installation of new equipment to the required standard.
The position also involves keeping asset records accurate, helping with equipment audits, and supporting wider operational demands. Some work may be required outside normal hours. In return, you will help ensure reliable, polished, and proactive technical support for matchdays.
About the club
The club is one of the most recognised names in world football, with a long-standing record of success and a strong heritage. Off the pitch, it places great value on its local community and offers a range of opportunities and career paths. Its purpose is to support a winning team, culture, and community through courage, a focus on progress, community spirit, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
Safeguarding and background checks
The organisation is committed to protecting children, young people, and adults at risk by maintaining safe and inclusive environments. Successful candidates must complete a DBS check and any other required background checks before starting. The level of DBS check may be basic, standard, or enhanced depending on the duties of the role.
Day-to-day duties
- Act as the first point of contact for technical issues, responding quickly to faults involving hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Install, prepare, and configure new devices, workstations, and related cabling so they meet the required deployment standards.
- Help maintain accurate records for user devices and stock by supporting audits, tracking, and general equipment upkeep.
- Provide additional support for one-off events, equipment rollouts, and desk relocations, including work outside standard hours where needed.
- Monitor IPTV screens and digital signage on matchdays, check that content is displaying correctly, report faults, and carry out basic troubleshooting.
What the club is looking for
The ideal person is enthusiastic about technology and eager to build their knowledge and experience. A solid grounding in computer hardware, software, and networking is important, along with strong troubleshooting ability and a calm, analytical approach to problem-solving.
You should also be a confident communicator who can work professionally with users and deliver strong customer service. Flexibility is essential, as support may be needed on matchdays, at events, and outside normal business hours.
Equality, diversity and inclusion
The club is committed to creating an environment where everyone feels included and valued, and where differences in background, skills, and experience contribute to success on and off the pitch.
Disability confidence
The organisation welcomes applications from people with disabilities and long-term health conditions. If adjustments are needed during recruitment, applicants should make this clear in their application. Those who meet the Equality Act 2010 definition of disability may be eligible to request an interview under the Disability Confident Scheme. Any health or disability information shared will not be used in recruitment decisions.
Application information
The application deadline is Friday 10 July 2026. The organisation may close the vacancy early if application volumes are high, so early submission is encouraged. Application updates will be sent by email, so applicants should check spam and junk folders regularly.
