Job description
The role
This casual Academy Driver position is responsible for supporting travel for Academy players and staff, ensuring journeys are safe, dependable, and handled in a professional manner.
The Academy is focused on helping players and staff grow and perform by removing travel-related stress and providing reliable transport support.
About the club
The club is internationally renowned, with a long-standing history and strong tradition of success. It also places great importance on its local community and offers a broad range of opportunities behind the scenes for people who want to contribute to a winning culture.
The organisation’s purpose is to support a winning team, strong culture, and positive community. It aims to do this by encouraging progress, backing one another and the local community, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
Safeguarding and background checks
The club is committed to protecting children, young people, and adults at risk, and to maintaining environments that are safe and inclusive. Successful candidates must complete a DBS check and any other required background checks before starting. The level of DBS check will depend on the duties of the role and may be basic, standard, or enhanced.
Key duties
- Transport Academy players regularly by minibus, making sure journeys are punctual and safe.
- Work with the Kit team to assist with the movement of training and match kit, along with other equipment when needed.
- Provide minibus transport for staff on an occasional basis as operational needs arise.
- Look after Academy travel equipment and make sure it is managed efficiently and kept in good condition.
- Develop strong working relationships with players, parents or guardians, and wider colleagues.
- Keep safeguarding, health, and safety requirements central to all travel activity.
Working pattern
The post is based at Sobha Realty Training Centre and includes evening and weekend working.
What the club is looking for
- A clean UK driving licence and the ability to travel independently to different locations.
- Previous experience in a comparable role, with confidence driving in Greater London and nearby areas.
- FA Safeguarding accreditation, or a willingness to complete it.
- A professional attitude that reflects positively on the club when dealing with colleagues, players, and members of the public.
- The integrity, discretion, and reliability needed to work as a trusted team member.
Position of trust
This is a position of trust role involving regular direct contact with children or vulnerable adults. The holder of the role is expected to maintain high standards of conduct and help prevent abuse of any kind, including sexual, physical, or emotional harm. Ongoing Club and FA safeguarding training and education are required.
Equality, diversity and inclusion
The club is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and wants everyone connected to the organisation to feel part of the Arsenal family. It believes that a mix of backgrounds, skills, and experience strengthens success on and off the pitch.
Disability confidence
The club is a Disability Confident Leader and welcomes applications from people with disabilities and long-term health conditions. Candidates who need disability-related adjustments to the recruitment process should note this in their application. If you meet the definition of a disabled person under the Equality Act 2010, you may be eligible to request an interview under the Disability Confident Scheme; if so, this should be indicated in the application form. Any health or disability information provided will not be used in recruitment decisions.

The closing date for applications is Monday 29 June 2026. The club may close the vacancy earlier if there is a high volume of applications, so early submission is encouraged. Application updates will be sent by email, and candidates should check spam and junk folders regularly.
