Role Overview

Grove is hiring a technically strong, data-oriented CRM marketer to help communicate its mission to millions of customers. The role is for someone who understands modern CRM beyond campaign execution — including the underlying system architecture, experimentation design, and performance optimization. The team works in a complex lifecycle environment and expects a strong focus on results.

The ideal candidate works naturally with AI tools to speed up execution, improve writing, strengthen personalization, and expand what a lean team can do without extra engineering support. The position covers the full CRM toolkit, including email, push, SMS, and in-app messaging, and also supports broadcast campaigns. It is highly cross-functional, with close collaboration across CRM, Product, Engineering, Analytics, Creative, and Merchandising.

What You Will Own

  • Lead and improve Grove’s lifecycle and trigger programs, including advanced Braze canvases, audience targeting and exclusions, Liquid personalization, and integrations with Shopify and Recharge.
  • Plan, run, and operationalize A/B and multivariate experiments across channels, building a continuous testing system that compounds learning over time.
  • Create, review, and launch campaigns and canvases in Braze across email, push, SMS, and in-app surfaces.
  • Review campaign and trigger results on weekly and monthly cycles, then turn performance data into practical recommendations.
  • Contribute strategic thinking to lifecycle decisions by identifying priorities, testing opportunities, and the highest-impact areas for growth.
  • Work closely with partners across the business, including helping connect CRM with newer personalization and loyalty systems.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in CRM or lifecycle marketing, preferably with a multi-category direct-to-consumer retailer.
  • Strong comfort with AI tools and an instinct to use them for faster execution, improved personalization, data analysis, and broader team efficiency.
  • Hands-on expertise with Braze, including canvases, campaigns, content blocks, Liquid logic, segmentation, and custom events; strong candidates with equivalent enterprise ESP experience may also be considered.
  • Ability to work through technical CRM complexity, including custom event payloads, Shopify catalog integrations, subscription data from Recharge, recommendation systems such as Constructor.io, and knowing when to ask Engineering for new data or event support.
  • Demonstrated success with A/B testing, including thoughtful test design, correct measurement, and the ability to apply learnings to future work.
  • Strong analytical judgment and a habit of connecting CRM work to business outcomes rather than only execution metrics.
  • Practical HTML and CSS skills, including editing email templates, fixing rendering problems, and working with dynamic content.
  • Enough creative ability to write persuasive messaging and help shape briefs when needed, even if you are not a dedicated copywriter.
  • Comfort working independently and contributing strategic perspective as a thought partner, not just an executor.

Compensation

The base salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $160,000 annually. Compensation bands vary by market, and the highest end of the range is reserved for the most experienced candidates in higher-cost locations. In addition to base pay, the role is eligible for an annual incentive target and equity.
