The National Wedding Show is a major wedding exhibition brand in the UK, staged three times a year across Birmingham, London, and the North West during the spring and autumn seasons. It welcomes around 40,000 visitors each year and offers couples a wide range of ideas and services for planning their wedding. With more than three decades of experience, the event is known for its premium, high-quality production.

Role overview

This full-time position is based in London and sits within the marketing team. The Marketing Assistant will help deliver campaigns focused on ticket sales and lead generation, with the aim of increasing audience reach and engagement. It is a strong opportunity for someone at the start of their career or a recent graduate to develop in a supportive, fast-moving environment where initiative and creativity are valued.

What the role involves

  • Assist the Marketing Manager in planning, running, and delivering integrated campaigns aligned to event goals and commercial outcomes.
  • Keep the event website current by updating copy and ensuring the information is accurate and engaging.
  • Run social media activity by producing content, tracking results, and reporting on audience growth and engagement.
  • Deliver exhibitor marketing obligations by making sure all agreed promotional activity is completed as planned.
  • Work with the sales team on trade marketing activity designed to generate qualified leads and support revenue.
  • Build, send, and improve email campaigns while reviewing performance data to guide future changes.
  • Support campaign measurement through analysis, reporting, and post-campaign evaluation.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to visitor queries to help maintain a positive customer experience.
  • Help prepare and distribute promotional assets for exhibitors, sponsors, and partners.
  • Complete marketing admin work accurately, efficiently, and on time.
  • Support additional projects and tasks as needed by the business.
  • Act as a professional representative of the company at all times.
  • Attend and assist with onsite event delivery, including weekend work for around six events each year.

Skills and experience

  • Comfort working collaboratively in a team and meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence creating content for TikTok and Instagram, with a good feel for what performs well on those platforms.
  • Practical experience using digital marketing tools such as Canva and Mailchimp.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a similar subject is preferred but not mandatory.

Working pattern and location

The role is based at the Business Design Centre in London. Standard hours are 9am to 5pm, and the position is described as hybrid, although the primary location is onsite.

Salary

The salary range is £26,000 to £28,000 per year, depending on experience.

Additional information

This is an entry-level, full-time opportunity. The role includes onsite support at events and some weekend work across approximately six events per year.
