Job description

Role overview

This Singapore-based manufacturing planning contract runs for 12 months and requires on-site attendance five days a week. The role is centered on coordinating engineering build schedules across manufacturing locations and acting as the main link between Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.

The planner is accountable for the full engineering build scheduling flow, from converting build needs into production orders and confirming readiness, to monitoring execution and escalating issues so timelines and objectives stay on track.

Key responsibilities

  • Turn engineering build requirements into practical manufacturing plans that can be executed on the shop floor.
  • Assess Engineering Build Plans to identify the production orders, material availability, and capacity needed for each build.
  • Prepare and release production orders to enable engineering builds.
  • Coordinate with Site Operations, Manufacturing, NPI, Planning, and Production Control teams to reserve build slots.
  • Highlight and escalate any matters that could affect build dates, product quality, or engineering goals.
  • Push for fast resolution of shortages, routing discrepancies, capacity clashes, and system-related exceptions.
  • Track work-in-progress, lot movement, and overall production execution.

Technical skills and qualifications

  • Hands-on experience creating and managing production orders in ERP or MRP systems, with SAP preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering Build Plans, BOMs, routings, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Strong capability in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other data analysis tools.
  • Experience monitoring WIP, lot flow, and production execution status.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in production planning.
  • Prior exposure to engineering build support within a manufacturing setting is preferred.
