About Jurong Port

Jurong Port is a versatile gateway specializing in the efficient handling of general, bulk, and containerized cargo. Their operations extend across facilities including the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre and the Lighter Terminals at Penjuru and Marina South. Apart from its Singapore base, Jurong Port also engages in joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port managed close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo and handled 560,000 TEUs of container volumes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the comprehensive execution and delivery of assigned CAPEX and OPEX projects, ensuring quality, cost, delivery, and safety (QCDS) standards are met.
  • Track project progress by monitoring milestones, critical paths, and deliverables while conducting risk assessments and enacting control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform feasibility studies and cost analyses for ongoing or prospective initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders to establish project requirements, objectives, and guidelines.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning, including three-year expansion and electrification plans.
  • Promote innovative approaches to reduce operational costs and boost project efficiencies, including the implementation of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA), Design for Sustainability (DfS), modular systems, prefabrication, and ecosystem-based solutions.
  • Incorporate renewable energy solutions such as solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and other sustainability efforts into projects.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring alignment with internal processes and current industry standards.
  • Lead stakeholder management efforts by directing consultants regarding technical specifications, managing prequalification and tender processes, and assessing contractors and subcontractors post-tender.
  • Engage continuously with internal teams and external partners to ensure expectations are met.
  • Manage project closure activities including lessons learned analysis, post-project evaluations, contractor grading, and technical validations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering specializing in Civil or Facilities Management along with proven project management expertise.
  • Additional technical certifications are advantageous.
  • Brings at least eight years of relevant professional experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrates sound decision-making abilities characterized by logic and reason, coupled with proactive and positive stakeholder engagement.
  • Exhibits strong teamwork capabilities alongside effective personnel management skills.
  • Proficient in written communication and delivering presentations effectively.
