Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Manager, Communications for a 16-month contract working 35 hours weekly from anywhere within Canada. This role is integral to guiding the corporate communications strategy, enhancing MS Canada's public image, and managing media relations efforts. The Manager will collaborate internally to develop and deliver compelling messaging that supports organizational goals and communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on best practices for corporate communications and public relations initiatives.
  • Lead implementation of communication strategies to strengthen the organization's reputation.
  • Manage media relations including inquiries, outreach, and logistics coordination.
  • Collaborate with various teams to craft messages that align with program and organizational objectives.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience leading communications, public relations, and media relations plans that reinforce brand identity.
  • Skilled at managing media interactions and organizing related logistics.
  • Strong abilities in writing, editing, and managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, employing diplomacy when addressing challenges.
  • Highly collaborative with a capacity to build trust across colleagues, partners, and community members.
  • Leadership experience through direct team management or project oversight, offering guidance and constructive feedback.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings, with some potential travel across Canada.
