About the Role

We are seeking a Manager of Communications for a 16-month contract position working 35 hours weekly anywhere in Canada, with onsite presence in Vancouver, BC. The role involves advising on corporate communications best practices and managing initiatives that shape the organization's public image. The Manager will lead media relations activities and collaborate across teams to deliver clear, compelling messaging that supports organizational communication and public relations goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of communication strategies to enhance MS Canada's brand reputation.
• Manage media relations including outreach, inquiries, and event logistics.
• Collaborate internally to ensure messaging aligns with team objectives and public relations initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in managing communications, media, and public relations strategies that strengthen brand identity.
• Experience handling media inquiries, conducting outreach, and coordinating logistics.
• Strong skills in writing, editing, project management, and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities with tactful and diplomatic navigation of challenges.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to build trust-based relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Leadership experience through direct people management or project lead roles, providing guidance and feedback.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, and availability to travel domestically as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting annual salary between $75,000 and $80,000.
