About the Role

The Home Depot is seeking a Manager, Brand PR to join its Public Relations team. This pivotal role involves crafting and implementing external communication strategies designed to enhance the company's brand image, highlight product innovations, and promote key business objectives. You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Merchandising, eCommerce, and other internal departments to devise and execute integrated earned media campaigns. These campaigns will aim to resonate with both do-it-yourself enthusiasts and professional customers, ultimately contributing to sustained business growth. The Manager, Brand PR will be instrumental in shaping compelling brand narratives, fostering engagement with media and influencers, and ensuring a cohesive message across both earned and owned communication channels. Success in this position hinges on exceptional media relations skills, strategic foresight, and meticulous execution to achieve tangible outcomes. The ability to influence stakeholders, manage diverse priorities, and distill complex business strategies into impactful communications that bolster The Home Depot's reputation and market standing is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the planning and execution of both internal and external communication initiatives, acting as a strategic communications partner for senior leadership and various teams to amplify key projects for internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with functional and project teams to deliver effective communications that align with and support business objectives, ensuring message consistency and partnering with internal channel owners to creatively link company strategy and goals to communication efforts.
  • Develop and implement a measurable earned media strategy focused on supporting The Home Depot's product innovation goals, engaging its customer base of DIYers and professional contractors, and driving year-over-year business growth.
  • Establish and track sustained communication metrics to evaluate the ongoing effectiveness of internal and external communication strategies.

Additional Information

  • This position typically reports to the Sr. Manager, Brand Comms Marketing & Online.
  • The role includes direct supervision of 2 team members.
  • Travel requirements range from 5% to 20% overnight travel.
  • The role is primarily sedentary with opportunities for movement; minimal physical exertion is expected.
  • Work is conducted in a comfortable indoor environment with infrequent, unobjectionable unpleasant conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess 8+ years of experience in public relations, either within an agency setting or in-house, with a strong preference for retail industry experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing a measurable earned media strategy that supports product innovation objectives, engages the customer base, and drives business growth.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic counsel, develop, and implement communication campaigns in partnership with merchandising, e-commerce, marketing, professional services, and other internal departments to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience cultivating strong collaborative relationships with internal marketing teams to support new marketing and sales initiatives.

Minimum Education

A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study is typically required.
