Position overview
This role is focused on building and maintaining business intelligence capabilities that help improve data quality for internal business users at The Home Depot. You will use modern, effective methods to support analytics, strengthen data reliability, and assist with issue resolution.
Core responsibilities
- Develop insights and internal knowledge around competitive pricing and assortment trends.
- Create data quality dashboards and reports, and help set up automated checks that monitor key metrics and trigger alerts when needed.
- Continuously review data quality and determine which data issues should be prioritized for follow-up.
- Partner with BL internal teams and SSC Business teams to resolve data quality issues, answer data-related questions, and improve BL tools and supporting data.
- Handle requests and questions coming through the support queue (Zendesk) in a professional and timely way.
Reporting line
This position reports to a Manager or Senior Manager.
Travel, physical, and working conditions
Overnight travel is expected to be less than 10% of the time. The work is primarily sedentary, with frequent opportunities to move around and only occasional need to lift light items. The role is based in a comfortable indoor environment with infrequent and minor unpleasant conditions.
Minimum qualifications
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be legally allowed to work in the United States.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the role is typically required.
- At least 1 year of work experience is required.
Preferred background
- A degree in Statistics, Economics, MIS, or another quantitative discipline is preferred.
- Experience with SQL, Python, Java, or another programming language is preferred.
- Familiarity with support queues such as Zendesk or JIRA is preferred.
- Exposure to statistics, data mining, programming, or related analytical disciplines is preferred.
Skills and competencies
- Ability to analyze, assess, and interpret complex datasets.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- Strong proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and statistical or pricing tools such as SAS, Minitab, or DemandTec.
- Ability to build productive relationships and collaborate across functions.
