Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Lead/Manager within the Commissioning Department for the COMP2 Project, the Maintenance Preservation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and executing the Project Preservation Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage the Project Preservation Plan for static and rotating equipment, piping systems, electrical and instrumentation components, capital spares, and special tools.
- Maintain and track equipment logs using a Preservation Management System (PMS), such as Hexagon or WinPCS.
- Monitor environmental conditions (humidity, temperature) and promptly report any deterioration or anomalies to warehouse and site management.
- Oversee the short-term and long-term storage of Mechanical, EIT, Capital Spare, and Special Tools equipment, performing necessary preservation activities.
- Ensure preservation activities are prepared and tracked via system Preservation Record Sheets, with preservation history and records readily available until formal equipment transfer.
- Verify that preservation activities are conducted correctly and formally recorded in the database system.
- Confirm that adequate tools and equipment are available to meet preservation requirements.
- Provide daily reports directly to the Preservation Lead.
What We Are Looking For
Education
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
Experience
A minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional experience is necessary, with a specific focus on the oil and gas industry or large-scale EPC projects.
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of preservation techniques, including Vapour Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI), nitrogen blanketing, and protective coatings, along with the ability to interpret material datasheets.
- A strong understanding of various preservation practices, associated risks and hazards, and effective mitigation measures.
Soft Skills
- Effective leadership and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in reporting.
- Capability to thrive in complex, multicultural project environments.
- Competence in using computer software for word processing, database management, spreadsheets, and email.
Languages
Fluency in English is essential.
