Job description
Role overview
This position supports the property’s safety and security operations by overseeing day-to-day loss prevention activities. The role focuses on protecting guests, associates, and assets while ensuring a safe environment and consistent compliance with company standards.
Core duties
- Check all areas of the property, secure guest rooms when needed, and assist guests with access.
- Carry out emergency drills, safety and hazard checks, incident investigations, interviews, and key-control audits.
- Observe CCTV and alarm systems, and manage access to restricted zones by approving, tracking, and documenting entry.
- Support guests and associates during emergencies, including contacting emergency services or giving first aid/CPR when necessary.
- Collect facts, complete incident reports, and safeguard confidential information and records.
- Handle disturbances professionally, enforce policies, de-escalate unsafe situations, and remove unauthorized persons from the property when required.
- Ensure alcohol service and related controls follow applicable laws and company procedures.
- Use approved code responses to request help and provide the required paperwork to associates.
Leadership and service expectations
- Assist managers in coaching, training, and motivating associates, while acting as a model for fair-treatment and open-door practices.
- Follow all company rules, complete required safety training and certifications, and promptly report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect company assets and proprietary information.
- Welcome guests warmly, recognize service needs, and respond with professionalism and courtesy.
- Communicate clearly, prepare accurate written documents, answer phones properly, and build strong working relationships across the team.
- Support shared goals, respond constructively to colleague concerns, and uphold quality standards at all times.
Physical and work requirements
- Read and verify information in different formats, including small print.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machines for defects.
- Use computers and/or point-of-sale systems to enter and retrieve work information.
- Move quickly when the situation requires, including walking, jogging, or running.
- Stand, sit, or walk for long periods, including a full shift if needed.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 pounds alone and over 75 pounds with assistance.
- Handle objects of different sizes and weights with strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor control.
- Work in narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, and stairway or ramp areas.
- Bend, twist, stoop, pull, and reach above the shoulders and below the knees.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
