Job description
Role overview
AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for planning, building, delivering, and running the global infrastructure that powers AWS. The team keeps data centers operating by supporting servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems that customers depend on every day.
As a Logistics Specialist, you will help keep the parts room running smoothly at AWS Data Centres by managing the full lifecycle of computer hardware. The role centers on receiving shipments, storing equipment safely, issuing parts to technicians, performing cycle counts, and arranging the return of faulty hardware to vendors.
You will work alongside Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to support dependable repair and maintenance work, while following AWS standards for safety, security, and availability.
Key responsibilities
- Keep inventory at healthy levels so build and repair work is never delayed.
- Receive incoming parts, verify deliveries, and issue items to internal teams when needed.
- Load and unload shipments and move parts between sites.
- Maintain precise stock records for every item under your control.
- Keep all work areas clean, organised, and safe by applying 7S practices.
Day-to-day work
Your typical day will focus on logistics support for data centers, including handling spare-part transactions, replenishing consumables, and carrying out stock cycle counts.
The role includes travel between sites, so your own transport is required. In some cases, you may also need to work inside the data center after hours or on weekends.
Team and culture
AWS encourages people from many different backgrounds and welcomes candidates who may not have followed a traditional career path. The company emphasizes inclusion, curiosity, mentorship, and career growth, and promotes a work culture that supports flexibility and work-life balance.
Accommodation
If you need a workplace adjustment or accommodation during the application, interview, or onboarding stages, support is available through the company’s hiring process.
