About the Role

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Lifeguard to join their team on Ummahat Island, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, non-management position is crucial for overseeing recreation activities and ensuring guest safety and enjoyment. The role involves providing information on facilities, encouraging participation in activities, and maintaining a fun and safe environment. You will be responsible for enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, and assisting guests with their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact for all recreation activities on the property.
  • Inform guests about available recreational facilities such as pools, the beach, entertainment zones, fitness centers, and children's activity centers.
  • Motivate, register, and schedule guests for participation in recreational programs.
  • Foster a positive and relaxing atmosphere for all guests.
  • Uphold and communicate the rules and regulations of recreational facilities to ensure guest safety and well-being.
  • Monitor activities within the recreational areas and respond appropriately to any emergencies according to established procedures.
  • Provide cashier services for point-of-sale transactions in facilities where applicable.
  • Assist in hosting private functions within recreation facilities, including group activities and events.
  • Identify guests who may not be able to safely participate in certain activities and report to supervisors.
  • Offer assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of recreational facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management.
  • Complete all required safety training and certifications.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guest service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others and answer telephones using proper etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and support team goals.
  • Process payments for equipment rentals, activities, facility rentals, or retail sales.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
  • Enter and retrieve work-related information using computers and/or point-of-sale systems.
  • Perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 25 pounds independently and over 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Utilize fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for manipulating objects.
  • Navigate narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, and move over uneven or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
  • Perform reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping motions.
  • Undertake other reasonable job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
  • No prior related work experience is required.
  • No supervisory experience is necessary.
  • Must possess CPR Certification.
  • Must possess First Aid Certification.
  • Familiarity with recreation equipment is needed.
  • Any certification or training mandated by local and state agencies must be obtained.
