Job description

About the company

Hey Jane is a virtual reproductive and sexual health provider focused on discreet, judgment-free care delivered through a phone-based experience. The clinical team includes board-certified physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and patient care advocates who support patients with accessible care and quick communication.

Role summary

This position is ideal for a highly organized specialist who can manage the details that keep clinicians licensed, credentialed, and enrolled with payers across multiple states. The work involves coordinating workflows end to end, maintaining precise records, and serving as a key point of contact for clinicians, boards, payers, and internal teams.

Hey Jane is currently hiring for either part-time or full-time employment. The stated compensation is $60,000 to $70,000 per year, with equity also mentioned elsewhere in the posting.

Work location

Unless a different arrangement is specified, roles are fully remote. For this position, remote work is available from approved states. One section lists CA, CO, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OR, and WA, while another expands the approved list to CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, HI, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NM, NY, OR, VT, and WA. A strong preference is noted for candidates based in New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee provider licensing activities across multiple states, including first-time applications, renewals, and ongoing maintenance for clinicians such as physicians, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, and registered nurses.
  • Handle payer enrollment for both commercial and government programs, including Medicaid and Medicare, from submission through active enrollment.
  • Keep CAQH profiles current for all providers.
  • Create and maintain tracking tools that monitor credential and license expiration dates so provider practice is not interrupted.
  • Act as the main contact for clinicians, state boards, payers, and internal partners.
  • Follow up consistently with external agencies and boards to keep applications moving and remove blockers.
  • Document standard operating procedures and refine licensing and credentialing workflows as the organization grows.
  • Work with clinical, operations, and business development teams to ensure providers are enrolled and ready to see patients on schedule.
  • Spot process breakdowns and implement improvements that lower administrative workload for clinicians.
  • Support compliance with licensing rules, credentialing standards, and HIPAA obligations.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience handling provider licensing and credentialing, preferably in a telehealth or multi-state environment.
  • Practical experience using CAQH, state licensing portals, and payer enrollment platforms.
  • Working familiarity with multi-state licensing compacts such as IMLC and NLC, along with telehealth-related licensing and compliance considerations.
  • Understanding of credentialing requirements and enrollment processes for government payers.
  • Strong organizational ability and comfort managing many deadlines and follow-ups at once.
  • Sharp attention to detail, especially when reviewing complex documentation for errors.
  • A proactive, persistent communication style for dealing with boards, payers, and busy clinicians.
  • Ability to create structure and process in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup setting.
  • Comfort using Google Sheets, Excel, or project management tools.
  • High integrity and good judgment when handling sensitive provider information.

Compensation and benefits

The role is listed with annual compensation of $60,000 to $70,000, and equity is also mentioned. Benefits include unlimited vacation and health, dental, and vision insurance with an FSA.
