Job description
Overview
This role serves as a technical expert specializing in municipal and industrial wastewater and sludge treatment processes. The specialist independently handles all facets of process design and analysis, bringing extensive knowledge and skills in the discipline. Familiarity with related fields and expertise in advanced process control using AI technology are advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed designs for wastewater treatment systems, including screening equipment, chemical-physical and biological treatment plants, blower and odour control equipment, disinfection, and sludge treatment facilities.
- Design auxiliary systems such as chemical dosing, mechanical ventilation, and drainage infrastructures.
- Create Process Flow Diagrams, mass balances, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Produce general arrangement drawings and equipment layouts.
- Draft specifications for process equipment and define their performance criteria.
- Assess and review vendor submissions thoroughly.
- Collaborate with disciplines including civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, building services, instrumentation & control engineers, and digital water experts.
- Lead and facilitate meetings, HAZOP sessions, and interactions with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Deliver engineering support for bids and proposals.
- Develop plans for equipment testing and commissioning, and lead process testing activities.
- Supervise and mentor a team of process engineers, ensuring the quality and accuracy of their designs through QA/QC methods.
- Remain updated on recent advancements in wastewater and sludge treatment technologies and incorporate them appropriately into design processes.
