Job description
Position Overview
Binnies, part of the RSK Group, is currently seeking a dedicated Information Manager to become a key contributor to our digital transformation initiatives. This role ensures the integrity and reliability of project information throughout its lifecycle by applying best practices in Information Management (IM) and Common Data Environment (CDE) procedures aligned with ISO 19650 standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with ISO 19650, focusing on BIM processes, managing project information workflows, and document control.
- Supervise project data to guarantee accuracy, secure access, and proper management.
- Create and uphold critical BIM project documentation, including BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Responsibility Matrices, and Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDPs).
- Offer strategic advice and leadership on information management methodologies to internal teams and clients.
- Implement and oversee IM systems such as ProjectWise to enhance operational efficiency and data quality.
- Work closely with the digital team to integrate and optimize IM systems across projects.
- Provide training and coaching in Information Management and BIM practices, fostering a culture of digital excellence among project teams.
- Lead the IM function in collaboration with BIM/CAD, Document Control, Project Controls, Health, Safety & Wellbeing, GIS, and design leadership to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
- Support business growth initiatives including bid preparation within your technical discipline.
- Ensure organizational and legal compliance for data governance and security.
- Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, emerging tools, and regulatory changes affecting engineering and water sectors.
- Drive continuous improvements by refining IM processes and conducting regular audits to identify areas for development.
- Represent the Information Management function in client meetings, audits, and coordination sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of five years’ experience in Information Management, preferably within engineering, construction, or professional services sectors.
- Proficient user of IM software solutions such as ProjectWise.
- Deep understanding and practical application of ISO 19650 standards concerning BIM and project information management.
- Knowledge of data security protocols and information governance principles.
- Excellent communication skills capable of engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Proactive, able to work both independently and collaboratively to enhance IM practices.
Preferred Attributes
- Academic qualifications in Information Management, Engineering, or related areas (Degree, HND, or equivalent).
- Certification in ISO 19650 or similar BIM/IM frameworks.
- Familiarity with project controls including cost and scheduling aspects and their interaction with IM.
- Awareness of legal compliance, risk management, and data governance processes.
