Role Overview

This barista position with Pret A Manger is centered on delivering expertly prepared hot beverages, consistent quality, strong product knowledge, and warm service that reflects Pret’s energetic “Buzz.” The role also involves keeping the back counter operating smoothly, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting team development through training. The aim is to ensure every guest receives the drink they expect, prepared to standard and served with care.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep coffee and hot drink training resources accurate, easy to access, and regularly updated.
• Engage positively with guests and colleagues to highlight the coffee selection, menu items, and brand story while building an upbeat, welcoming environment.
• Communicate beverage orders clearly, consistently, and professionally when calling them out and serving them.
• Create high-quality latte art and maintain strong presentation standards to improve the guest experience.
• Prepare barista beverages according to approved recipes, quality benchmarks, and operating procedures.
• Show solid product knowledge and act as a benchmark for best practices in beverage preparation.
• Track ingredient consumption carefully to reduce waste and support cost-control goals.
• Work toward weekly beverage sales goals and keep the team informed of progress.
• Stay aware of beverage sales results, including sales contribution and product mix, and help support initiatives that improve performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should have strong spoken English and the confidence to communicate effectively with customers and team members. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine interest in coffee, service, and guest satisfaction are important. The role requires at least one year of experience in a barista position, flexibility to work shifts in a 24-hour operation, readiness to start in October 2026, and willingness to live and work in Abu Dhabi.
