Junior Research Assistant

Job summary

This is a remote opportunity for a detail-focused Junior Research Assistant to help with research activities and data handling. The role involves supporting literature review work, gathering and organizing data, assisting with analysis, and keeping documentation accurate and compliant with research procedures. It is well-suited to someone at the start of their career who wants to grow in research or academic work.

Key responsibilities

• Review published material and condense the main findings into clear summaries.
• Support the planning and execution of research studies and experiments.
• Gather, clean, and structure both qualitative and quantitative datasets.
• Keep records, databases, and project documentation up to date and accurate.
• Assist with analysis and interpretation of findings while working under supervision.
• Draft reports, presentations, and concise research briefs.
• Follow ethical standards and research compliance requirements at all times.
• Work with other team members and help coordinate day-to-day project tasks.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree, or current enrollment in one, in a relevant area such as Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Business, or a similar discipline.
• Working knowledge of research methods and data collection practices.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical ability, organization, and critical thinking.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills.
• Careful attention to detail and the ability to handle several tasks at once.

Preferred skills

• Exposure to statistical software such as SPSS, R, or Python.
• Understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research approaches.
• Experience with academic writing and referencing formats such as APA or MLA.
• Familiarity with survey tools or other data collection platforms.
