About the Role
Centorrino Technologies (CT) is looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst to help deliver important technology initiatives across enterprise applications, infrastructure, and knowledge and information management areas. The role is a 6-month contract and is based on site in Hobart, Tasmania.
The successful candidate will ensure business needs are properly understood, assessed, and converted into workable solutions that fit organisational goals and technical constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business analysis work across projects involving enterprise applications, infrastructure, and information management.
- Gather, assess, document, and confirm business, functional, and non-functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and stakeholder discussions.
- Review and map current-state and future-state processes, and identify ways to improve efficiency, governance, and service quality.
- Evaluate the effects of changes across enterprise systems, infrastructure platforms, and information management environments to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Maintain requirements traceability so business needs stay connected to solution design, testing, and implementation results.
- Assist with solution assessment, business case preparation, and informed decision-making using evidence-based analysis and recommendations.
- Support procurement work, vendor reviews, and solution selection activities.
- Contribute to testing tasks, including requirement validation, test planning, user acceptance testing, and defect handling.
- Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders across business and technology teams, while helping manage priorities and encourage collaboration.
- Create clear analysis documents such as business requirements, process maps, user stories, use cases, business rules, and traceability matrices.
- Make sure all analysis outputs are accurate, consistent, and aligned with governance, compliance, and project standards.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in complex IT or enterprise settings, with a track record of delivering technology-related projects.
- Solid experience working across enterprise applications, infrastructure, and knowledge or information management initiatives.
- Hands-on exposure to platforms such as SharePoint, OpenText, SAP, Microsoft 365, or comparable enterprise systems.
- Strong capability in requirements gathering, process modelling, stakeholder workshops, and business process improvement.
- Experience reviewing system impacts, dependencies, integrations, and organisational change implications.
- Good understanding of information management, governance, records management, and content management concepts.
- Previous involvement in procurement processes, vendor assessments, and solution evaluations.
- Practical experience supporting quality assurance and testing through the project lifecycle.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a focus on clear and practical recommendations.
- Experience working within project delivery frameworks and partnering effectively with project managers, architects, technical specialists, and business stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Information Technology, or a related field are preferred.
- Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, or Agile BA are considered an advantage.
