Role Overview
This position is for a Desktop Support Officer in Melbourne, responsible for delivering high-quality, on-site technical assistance to customers. The role focuses on helping users in a friendly, confident, and service-oriented way. You will work across a range of technologies, including Macs, PCs, tablets, server environments, network systems, and voice platforms, though the specialist teams will handle most server and network-related work.
The role is part time and requires working 3 days per week.
Key Duties
- Keep the customer’s day-to-day technology operations running smoothly.
- Build positive, approachable relationships with end users.
- Work with teammates to spot process improvements and more efficient ways of working.
- Collect customer feedback and use it to improve service quality.
- Help define and roll out new procedures where no existing process is in place.
- Maintain accurate documentation and keep procedures current.
- Take responsibility for routine technical issues and coordinate with external third parties when needed.
- Partner with colleagues across other teams to achieve the best result for the customer.
What You Need
- Strong customer service orientation, with hands-on experience helping people solve device and computer-related issues.
- Genuine interest in technology and a willingness to learn new tools, systems, and ideas.
- Clear troubleshooting communication, with the ability to stay calm and explain issues and fixes simply.
- Positive, proactive attitude and a history of supporting others through technical challenges.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills for working with different stakeholders.
- Flexibility to adapt to unusual situations, including staying back later or changing schedules when required.
- A valid Vulnerable People / Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a Police Check are mandatory.
