The Role
We are seeking an IT Application Operations Specialist to provide comprehensive support, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization for our enterprise applications. The primary goal is to ensure high availability and peak operational performance. This position is well-suited for individuals who thrive on system troubleshooting, supporting business applications, managing incidents effectively, and collaborating with users, vendors, and various technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the health, availability, and performance of applications across production environments.
- Deliver first and second-level support for business-critical applications.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application incidents and service requests.
- Coordinate issue resolution efforts with development teams, external vendors, and infrastructure teams.
- Ensure applications consistently meet defined operational and service-level requirements.
- Manage incidents, service requests, and escalations according to IT service management best practices.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis for issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Track recurring problems and propose sustainable, long-term solutions.
- Support major incident management processes and recovery operations.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and operational documentation.
- Perform daily health checks and ongoing operational monitoring of systems.
- Support application deployments, upgrades, patching, and release management activities.
- Monitor system logs, batch jobs, interfaces, and integrations for anomalies.
- Ensure the successful completion of scheduled processes.
- Assist with backup validation, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and execution.
- Serve as a key liaison between business users, vendors, and technical teams.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to end-users.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and post-deployment validation processes.
- Gather user feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate timely updates regarding incidents and service status to stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date application support procedures, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure adherence to IT governance, security policies, and operational standards.
- Support audit reviews and compliance assessments as required.
- Document system configurations, changes, and support workflows.
- Contribute to the enhancement of operational processes and the implementation of automation.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Accumulate 1 to 5 years of professional experience in application support, application operations, production support, IT operations, or a similar capacity.
- Demonstrate a strong grasp of application lifecycle management and IT operations methodologies.
- Have prior experience supporting enterprise-level applications and business systems.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management is expected.
- Possess basic SQL skills for troubleshooting and data verification purposes.
- A foundational understanding of Linux, Windows Server, or cloud environments is considered an advantage.
- Experience with monitoring tools, log analysis techniques, and batch processing is beneficial.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
