Job description
Role overview
This is a senior, founder-facing investment leadership role based in Germany, supporting the creation and expansion of a disciplined acquisition engine across Europe. The position centers on sourcing and converting high-quality software acquisition opportunities, building direct relationships with founders, advisors, and other stakeholders across several verticals. It combines strategic market development, hands-on execution, and executive-level relationship management in a fast-moving, private equity-backed software setting. The role calls for designing a repeatable sourcing system, establishing trust with founders, and moving opportunities through the full investment journey. As a regional leader, you will also help build and scale an effective origination team while influencing go-to-market direction and operating cadence. This is an entrepreneurial role with substantial ownership, visibility, and long-term influence on portfolio growth.
Accountabilities
- Take ownership of the European origination plan, including market mapping, ICP definition, vertical theses, and coverage models across selected software segments.
- Build and grow a strong outbound origination organization by hiring, coaching, and managing team leads and managers to meet ambitious pipeline goals.
- Run multi-channel outreach efforts across email, phone, LinkedIn, events, and conferences to connect with founders, advisors, and intermediaries.
- Set up and maintain structured operating routines such as WBRs, MBRs, and QBRs, while ensuring accurate CRM usage, pipeline transparency, and deal tracking across every stage.
- Strengthen founder engagement and conversion by creating trust-based relationships and advancing opportunities from first contact through LOI and closing.
- Serve as a regional closer on important opportunities, supporting negotiations, sustaining momentum, and driving execution through signed agreements.
- Work closely with M&A, operating, and people teams to align qualification standards, market focus, and team-scaling plans.
- Continuously improve playbooks, tooling, and data-led systems to increase outreach effectiveness, conversion rates, and deal speed.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in B2B software, enterprise sales, origination, or investment-focused roles, preferably in PE-backed or rapidly growing SaaS companies.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling outbound sales or origination teams of 15-30+ people, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong background in founder-led sales, enterprise new-logo acquisition, or commercial roles tied to M&A processes.
- Solid knowledge of SaaS ecosystems, market mapping, pipeline development, and modern GTM and outreach practices.
- Proven ability to earn trust and influence senior stakeholders, especially founders and executive decision-makers.
- Well-developed systems thinking with experience using structured operating models, metrics, and CRM-based performance oversight.
- Advanced negotiation and closing capability, including managing complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles through completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
Benefits
- Competitive executive compensation with performance-linked incentives.
- The chance to lead and scale a high-growth investment origination function across Europe.
- High levels of autonomy and ownership within a long-term, evergreen investment platform.
- Exposure to experienced operators, investors, and advisors across global software markets.
- Flexible working setup with regional travel across Europe.
- Strong career growth potential in investment leadership and portfolio development.
- A dynamic, entrepreneurial culture centered on continuous improvement and long-term value creation.
