Job description
Role overview
We are hiring an Investment Banking Analyst for a respected boutique investment bank in New York that advises clients in the industrial services sector. The position is designed for someone who is already in a full-time analyst program at a recognized investment bank; candidates without that background are not a fit.
The opportunity offers early involvement in live transactions and a chance to contribute meaningfully from the start. The firm serves a sector that continues to draw strong attention from private equity sponsors and strategic acquirers.
Why this role is attractive
- Direct exposure to clients, private equity firms, and senior executives early in your career
- Small deal teams that give analysts real ownership across transaction stages
- Close mentorship from experienced Managing Directors and Partners
- A fast learning environment with hands-on work across multiple deal types
About the firm and culture
The business is focused solely on industrial services, a fragmented and active market that remains a key investment theme for leading private equity groups. Strong relationships and steady deal activity create opportunities to work on high-quality assignments with sophisticated financial sponsors.
The culture is described as collaborative, approachable, and low-ego. The office is team-oriented, with regular group lunches several times a week and a dog-friendly environment.
Work style and flexibility
- Work-from-home flexibility may be available during the week when appropriate
- Remote work on weekends can be arranged as needed
Key responsibilities
- Create and update detailed financial models and valuation analyses
- Prepare pitch books, client presentations, and marketing materials
- Support M&A deals, capital raises, and broader strategic advisory work
- Research companies and industry trends within industrial services
- Help manage due diligence and coordinate with clients, buyers, and investors
Candidate profile
This position is best suited to an analyst who wants to step away from the typical large-bank path and join a smaller platform where individual contributions are visible and valued. The ideal hire is motivated, precise, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment.
Qualifications and requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in investment banking or a closely related advisory role
- Strong ability in financial modeling and analytical work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Interest in industrials or industrial services is advantageous
- High attention to detail and the ability to perform in a demanding, collaborative setting
Compensation
The firm has a history of awarding very strong bonuses within the investment banking market.
