About the team

The Shopping Experience Protection Operations team works to strengthen trust across Amazon’s ecosystem for buyers, brands, vendors, sellers, employees, and other partners. The group focuses on using technology, analytics, and science to grow efficiently while controlling headcount and cost increases. It serves as a center of excellence that creates scalable, adaptable processes and tools that can be used across Amazon and beyond.

Role overview

The SEPO Operations Investigator will handle a broad set of responsibilities tied to identifying, reviewing, and reducing risks in online ecommerce activity. This position depends heavily on sound judgment, strong independent decision-making, and the ability to plan and complete work with minimal supervision. The investigator will use strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to verify customers and assess complex transactions accurately.

The role also requires regular written and verbal communication with management, risk analysts, risk engineers, internal colleagues, and outside parties. In some cases, contacting customers by phone may be necessary. Performance will be measured through productivity, quality, and overall contribution to the team.
