About the Role
H&P views its people as the company’s key advantage. This position is focused on protecting the electrical safety and reliability of rig operations and keeping electrical equipment functioning without interruption on H&P rigs in Saudi Arabia. It also offers a chance to contribute to H&P’s culture by leading electrical development sessions, coaching field leaders, supporting a team in building consistent electrical practices, and helping others improve maintenance methods.
What You’ll Do
- Work in line with H&P’s core values and safety expectations.
- Keep drill rig electrical systems, associated equipment, and personnel using electrical tools or devices operating safely.
- Identify electrical faults and carry out the required corrective work.
- Inspect electrical parts and complete repairs or adjustments when needed.
- Fit new equipment, modifications, and upgrades, while making sure all installed systems work correctly and meet Saudi Arabia electrical standards.
- Procure electrical components and maintain enough stock to support operations.
- Plan and support preventive maintenance and repair work for electrical equipment.
- Lead job-related JSA and Compass Card meetings.
- Show consistent commitment to H&P Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements and C.A.R.E. practices, including COACH people-based safety, Compass Cards, LifeBelts, JSAs, hot work, confined space entry, lock-out/tag-out, and dropped-object prevention.
- Have completed the Expert-level BOP training in Workday.
- Stay current with all assigned Workday training modules.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Ability to work within H&P’s Permitted Operations Management System (POMS).
- Strong understanding of Rig Electrical System Safety & Reliability Guidelines.
- Detailed knowledge of H&P HSE standards, especially Section 59 on Rig Crew Maintenance – Electrical Safety.
- Good task prioritization and time management.
- Capability to write detailed service reports in E.A.M.
- Advanced fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to complete preventive maintenance on schedule.
- Strict adherence to H&P policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of local, territory, state, and federal legal requirements.
- Ability to work with site management on safety and security controls to protect personnel from electrical injury or near misses.
- Comfortable providing updates and working closely with site leadership.
- Able to advise crews on improving safety and productivity.
- Willingness to learn and apply Saudi legislation related to drilling, electrical standards, HSE expectations, reporting, and audits.
- Ability to operate effectively in culturally diverse environments and respect local norms.

- Highly flexible and adaptable.
- At least 3 years of experience with rig drilling machinery and equipment.
- Ability to meet electrical standards and related health, safety, and environmental legal requirements.
- Level 1 Electrician with 3+ years of experience as an H&P Electrician.
- Previous work experience in indigenous environments.
- Completion of the Expert Electrical Workday Certification training.
