Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and driven Humanitarian Projects Coordinator to oversee and manage humanitarian initiatives and responses. The person in this position will ensure projects meet their goals while adhering to humanitarian standards, organizational guidelines, and donor mandates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute sanctioned humanitarian and emergency relief efforts.
  • Track project progress and verify that objectives and performance metrics are achieved.
  • Engage effectively with field offices, partners, relevant stakeholders, and authorities.
  • Compile and submit regular, technical, and progress reports to management and funding parties.
  • Oversee project budgets and promote efficient use of resources.
  • Take part in needs assessments, situation reviews, and initial feasibility evaluations.
  • Assist in drafting new project proposals and necessary updates.
  • Identify operational risks and challenges; suggest suitable mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all activities comply with humanitarian norms, internal policies, and governance standards.
  • Keep thorough and organized documentation, records, and project files.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Social Sciences, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or an equivalent credential.
  • At least 4 years' experience coordinating humanitarian projects or operations.
  • Prior work with humanitarian, international agencies, or NGOs is a plus.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English, spoken and written, is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in French will be regarded as an asset.

Required Skills

  • Strong competence in project coordination and follow-up.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to prepare clear documentation.
  • Familiarity with project management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Proficient problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian principles, standards, and project lifecycle management.
