Job Overview
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is seeking a Human Resources Specialist III to join their team in Huntsville, TX. This full-time, onsite role involves managing applicant screening, processing background checks, scheduling drug tests, and coordinating hiring procedures.
Key Duties
- Review and screen applications to ensure quality and suitability.
- Conduct background clearance processes for selected applicants.
- Offer employment positions, schedule drug testing, and arrange start dates.
- Manage and finalize selection packet closures.
Candidate Fit
You are well-suited for this role if you bring experience in human resources along with general clerical or office support functions. Candidates with strong conflict resolution skills, a bachelor's degree, and at least three years of human resources experience are preferred.
Additional Information and Conditions
- Salary for retirees will be 2.5% lower than the posted rate.
- Job may require day trips but no overnight travel.
- No hazardous duty or longevity pay associated with the position.
- Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for external candidates.
- Military preference is provided upon submission of required documentation.
- The position requires eligibility to work in the United States without agency sponsorship during employment tenure.
