Role Summary

This position calls for a flexible, practical HR professional who can thrive in a fast-moving environment and support both office staff and operational teams. The right candidate will take an employee-first approach and act as a dependable point of contact for questions about payroll, policies, benefits, onboarding, and general HR concerns. The role also involves helping employees resolve issues in a professional, supportive way.

The Human Resources Generalist will handle core HR activities such as recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies. Strong organization, attention to detail, clear communication, and experience with ADP systems are important. Recruiting is a key part of the job, so the candidate should be comfortable managing the complete hiring cycle in a growing business.

Work Location

This role is based in Louisville, Kentucky. Relocation assistance is not offered. The position is fully on-site, and daily office attendance is required; remote work is not available.

Key Duties

  • Run the full recruiting process from posting jobs and reviewing resumes to interviewing, coordinating schedules, and completing onboarding for new employees.
  • Work with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and build recruiting plans for technicians and mechanics.
  • Act as a main HR resource for employee questions about pay, benefits, policies, and HR procedures.
  • Help employees with benefit enrollment, life event changes, and related questions.
  • Organize and lead new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Keep job descriptions and recruitment postings current.
  • Maintain accurate employee data and HR files in ADP and other systems.
  • Support payroll updates and employee record changes in ADP.
  • Assist with employee relations matters while handling sensitive information confidentially.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, along with company policies.
  • Support employee communications and HR programs or initiatives.
  • Handle other administrative HR tasks as needed.
  • Build positive working relationships across the organization through strong interpersonal and service-oriented communication.

Experience and Education

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar field is preferred. The role requires at least 2 years of HR experience, along with hands-on experience in recruiting, onboarding, and employee support. Background in operations, manufacturing, transportation, industrial, or service-based environments is preferred.
