Role overview
A professional services firm in New York is looking to hire a Human Resources Business Partner to support people-related strategy and operations across the Americas. This role combines advisory support, employee relations, compliance, performance management, talent planning, and cross-functional partnership.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor and internal subject matter expert for human capital matters across stakeholder groups in the Americas.
- Analyze people data and deliver reporting and insights to help stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Support the People Director and wider People team on international initiatives and projects.
- Handle employee relations matters, including discipline, leave management, and conflict resolution.
- Work with Legal and People Operations to maintain compliance with legal and administrative obligations.
- Conduct exit interviews and use the findings to identify and address retention themes.
- Manage mid-year and year-end review cycles, including administration of the appraisal process.
- Monitor appraisal follow-up, identify potential performance concerns, and escalate issues to the People Director and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coach managers and leaders on giving effective, ongoing feedback and helping build a strong feedback culture.
- Lead talent review conversations, including succession planning for business-critical roles.
- Oversee the annual bonus allocation process and ensure all participants understand the process and key decision points.
- Coordinate with the Benefits team to ensure employee benefits are delivered in line with employment contracts and any contract changes.
- Partner with local offices to support compliance with employment and health & safety laws and recommend corrective actions where needed.
- Work with People Operations and external immigration counsel to support immigration-related employee matters.
- Collaborate with agencies, internal talent acquisition teams, and business leaders during hiring to ensure strong candidates are sourced and shortlisted.
- Provide leaders with the right level of information to support internal hiring decisions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Working knowledge of HR policies and practices across the United States; experience in LatAm is an added advantage.
- Strong background in employee relations and understanding of core employment law principles.
- Experience managing projects end to end is beneficial.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior leaders.
- Ability to use a consultative style and influence change across all levels of the organization.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Compensation
The role offers an annual salary in the range of $125,000 to $140,000.
