Role overview
This London-based Human Capital Associate position supports people operations across the United Kingdom and Europe. The role is central to shaping and executing regional HR initiatives, with emphasis on workforce planning, HR administration, payroll oversight, compliance, and employee relations. The successful candidate should bring solid knowledge of UK and European labour legislation, along with practical experience turning HR strategy into business support.
Reporting line
This role reports to the Head of Human Capital – UK & EUR.
Key responsibilities
The position combines strategic partnership, operational HR support, and compliance-focused administration.
- Support the Head of Human Capital – UK & EUR in delivering the regional people strategy and advising business leaders on HR matters that align with group priorities around profitability, customer experience, and employee growth.
- Convert workforce information into concise reports and insights for leadership discussions and decision-making.
- Handle the full employee journey, including recruitment support, interviews, onboarding, and exit processes, while maintaining a positive candidate and employee experience.
- Oversee regional administrative activities such as health and safety coordination, equipment/resource arrangements, and the secure upkeep of employee files.
- Ensure all HR processes follow GDPR and other relevant privacy and data-protection requirements.
- Manage the monthly payroll process for UK and Europe operations, including accurate pay calculations, tax-related reporting, and statutory deductions.
- Work closely with external payroll vendors to resolve payroll issues, support year-end activities, and submit required regulatory filings.
- Track changes in employment and payroll legislation across the UK and Europe to keep practices compliant.
- Advise managers and employees on policies, conflict handling, and disciplinary matters.
- Address employee relations issues promptly and in line with UK and EU labour regulations to help maintain a healthy workplace.
- Improve HR efficiency through HRIS tools, automation, and process enhancements.
- Study workforce trends and metrics to identify improvement opportunities and support long-term planning.
Requirements
The role calls for a degree-qualified HR professional with several years of progressive experience and strong regional compliance knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a similar discipline.
- 3 to 4 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
- Experience working in a regional or multi-site environment.
- Background in a senior HR position, preferably within a multinational organization operating across the UK and Europe.
- Strong understanding of UK and European labour laws, regulations, and workplace culture, especially UK employment law.
- Prior experience managing payroll and ensuring compliance with UK payroll requirements.
