Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an HR Generalist I to support daily human resources operations for a shared services team in Dallas, Texas. This long-term contract role is centered on providing prompt, accurate support for employee lifecycle transactions, onboarding coordination, record maintenance, and inquiry resolution. The position calls for strong organization, good judgment, and a service-oriented mindset in a fast-paced HR environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a large volume of HR transactions in Workday, including hires, employee changes, separations, and organizational updates, while keeping work accurate and timely.
- Answer employee questions received through HR support channels, resolve standard issues efficiently, and route more complex items to the right HR, payroll, or business contacts.
- Assist with preboarding and onboarding by preparing employment paperwork, coordinating logistics, and helping create a smooth start for new hires.
- Arrange interviews and support pre-employment steps such as screenings and required document collection.
- Keep employee information current across HR systems and complete routine reviews to help ensure clean data, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Support workforce actions including terminations, reductions in force, location changes, and flexible work arrangement updates.
- Revise standard operating procedures, job aids, and internal knowledge resources to help keep HR processes consistent.
- Assist with reporting, controls, and process checks by validating information, documenting activities, and spotting ways to improve service delivery.
- Work closely with HR partners and other internal stakeholders to support operational consistency and a positive employee experience.
Required Experience and Skills
- Background in HR administration, HR operations, shared services, or a similar support position.
- Understanding of employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding, job changes, and separations.
- Hands-on experience using HR systems such as Workday to enter, update, and monitor employee data.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle inquiries professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent attention to detail for documentation, reporting, and compliance-related work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, perform well in a high-volume setting, and meet service expectations.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to partner across HR, payroll, and other teams.
