Job description

Role Overview

The HR Generalist contributes to the day-to-day work of the Human Resources team by handling a broad mix of HR activities. This includes employee relations, interpreting and applying policies, performance support, and consultation on talent management. The role may also extend to employee development programs and training support.

The right candidate will be self-driven, service-oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to juggle several priorities at once. This position calls for someone who can explain organizational and HR policies clearly, support compliance with practice standards, and help build a workplace culture that encourages positive employee engagement and satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

  • Explain HR policies and procedures to employees and managers and offer practical guidance.
  • Review workforce trends and HR data with team members to help shape programs, policies, and solutions.
  • Coach leaders on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and fair treatment practices.
  • Support employees in resolving routine HR concerns.
  • Conduct investigations and share resolution recommendations with leadership.
  • Help employees navigate the ADA process and advise leaders on related steps.
  • Maintain and update job descriptions as needed.
  • Partner with HR colleagues to support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, audits, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with policy revisions and employee handbook updates.
  • Encourage and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

The role requires a solid understanding of HR practices and employment law, along with strong communication, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills. The person should be comfortable advising others through sensitive issues, working independently in a fast-changing environment, and managing multiple tasks with strong organizational discipline. Project coordination skills and proficiency with MS Office, HRIS tools, internet research, and database management are also important.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a closely related discipline is required.
  • At least 3 years of HR experience is required; experience supporting multiple sites and working in healthcare is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of HRIS experience is required, and experience with business intelligence or reporting is highly preferred.
  • Must not have any sanctions from a governing agency, state authority, regional body, or third-party payor.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% is required.

Compensation

The posted annual salary range is $65,000 to $80,000. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, background, and work location, and may increase over time within the role.

About the Organization

PT Solutions is focused on broadening access to quality care and works as a close-knit team committed to that mission. The organization emphasizes professional growth through evidence-based education, mentorship, and an APTA-accredited Orthopaedic Residency Program, supporting clinicians across physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and athletic training. The team seeks professionals who want to help advance rehabilitation care and make a lasting impact.
