Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire is a distinctive Fairmont-managed property operating under Accor as a franchised Marriott hotel. Located in downtown Calgary, the all-suite hotel offers a city-center retreat positioned between the energy of urban life and the calm of the Bow River and Prince’s Island Park.
The property gives guests access to Calgary’s attractions, from views at the Calgary Tower to outdoor experiences along the glacier-fed Bow River, creating a setting that blends convenience, relaxation, and adventure.
About the Role
The Houseperson supports the housekeeping team by keeping public areas, service spaces, and back-of-house operations clean, organized, and ready for use. This position helps maintain stocked and welcoming guest-facing areas while contributing to a smooth and consistent hotel experience.

Key Duties
Public Area Care and Cleanliness
- Keep assigned public spaces clean and orderly, including corridors, elevators, stairwells, and service areas, following hotel housekeeping standards.
- Make sure shared areas remain neat, attractive, and ready to receive guests throughout the day.
- Remove waste, recycling, and used linens from guest floors and service zones and take them to the correct collection points.
- Maintain clean and organized housekeeping storage rooms, linen rooms, and service hallways.
- Carry out occasional deep-cleaning assignments such as carpet maintenance, moving furniture, and detailed cleaning work.
Operational Support
- Gather, sort, move, and distribute clean and soiled linens, towels, and uniforms across the property.
- Keep housekeeping carts, supply areas, and linen storage spaces well arranged and fully stocked for daily use.
- Deliver guest requests and amenities such as extra towels, linens, pillows, cribs, or rollaway beds quickly and professionally.
- Support Suite Attendants by bringing supplies, removing used linen, and helping prepare rooms for faster turnover.
- Assist housekeeping leaders with special assignments, seasonal cleaning, and other operational tasks as needed.
- Escalate maintenance issues, damage, and safety concerns to the appropriate department without delay.
Guest Service
- Provide courteous, prompt, and professional service to guests and coworkers.
- Respond quickly and respectfully to guest requests and service requirements.
- Maintain a positive, helpful attitude while working in guest-facing areas.
- Help create a clean, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere across the hotel.
Teamwork
- Partner with Suite Attendants, Housekeeping Supervisors, and other colleagues to maintain efficient day-to-day operations.
- Step in to help teammates during busy periods so cleanliness standards are consistently met.
- Take part in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Contribute to a respectful and positive workplace environment.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow hotel policies, department procedures, and health and safety requirements at all times.
- Use cleaning tools, equipment, and chemicals safely and according to instructions.
- Store supplies properly and keep the work area safe and orderly.
- Watch for hazards or unsafe conditions and report them promptly.
Qualifications
- Prior housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality setting is an advantage.
- Strong organizational ability and skill in prioritizing tasks in a busy environment.
- Capability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
- Willingness to reflect the brand promise and standards of luxury service in daily work and interactions.

Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods while completing physically active duties.
- Regular bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting during cleaning and organizing work.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of linen bags, equipment, and supplies up to 50 lbs, plus pushing and pulling fully stocked housekeeping carts.
- Physical endurance to move linens, shift furniture, and handle housekeeping equipment.
- Occasional use of ladders, stairs, or step stools to reach elevated areas.
