Housekeeping Attendant

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Attendant will be responsible for keeping guest rooms, suites, corridors and assigned common areas spotless, comfortable and hygienic. The role supports the luxury positioning of The Dubai EDITION by ensuring that every accommodation space meets premium presentation standards and contributes to an excellent guest experience.

This position requires a sharp eye for detail, efficient work habits, professional conduct and consistent compliance with hotel brand expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Guest room care and upkeep

• Service and clean guest rooms, suites, bathrooms and allocated areas in line with hotel procedures and quality standards.
• Keep rooms in excellent condition with special attention to tidiness, presentation and guest comfort.
• Replace bed linen, prepare beds, and restock towels, amenities and guest supplies.
• Vacuum, dust, polish and disinfect furniture, fittings, floors and other surfaces.
• Check rooms for repair or maintenance concerns and pass issues to the Engineering team without delay.
• Handle guest requests quickly and in a courteous, professional manner.

Housekeeping operations

• Keep carts, pantries and storage spaces clean, organised and fully supplied.
• Carry out scheduled cleaning, deep-cleaning tasks and special assignments as directed.
• Meet productivity targets while maintaining the required quality level.
• Use, store and care for cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Record and report any lost-and-found items according to hotel procedure.

Guest service

• Provide polite, personalised and professional service to every guest.
• Respond promptly to questions, requests and special needs.
• Protect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Present the hotel brand through proper grooming, behaviour and communication.

Health, safety and compliance

• Follow hotel policies, operating procedures and brand standards at all times.
• Observe UAE rules related to hygiene, workplace safety and health.
• Use chemicals and housekeeping equipment in a safe manner.
• Report accidents, hazards, maintenance concerns and unsafe situations immediately.
• Take part in training sessions and safety drills organised by the department.

Team coordination

• Cooperate closely with Housekeeping colleagues, Supervisors, Front Office, Engineering and other departments.
• Attend daily briefings and team meetings.
• Share room status, guest needs and operational updates clearly and on time.
• Assist teammates during busy periods when operational demand is high.

Qualifications and Experience

A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is preferred. Housekeeping certification or hospitality training will be an added advantage.

Candidates should have a basic understanding of housekeeping operations and luxury hotel service expectations, along with the ability to communicate in English. Knowledge of an additional language will be beneficial.

The ideal candidate will bring 3 to 4 years of experience in a housekeeping role at a luxury hotel, five-star property or other internationally recognised hospitality brand. Experience in Marriott International properties is preferred. Familiarity with high-end guest room presentation, housekeeping cleaning methods, chemical handling and guest satisfaction standards is important.
