Housekeeper- Oak Bay

Role Overview

Comfort Keepers is seeking a caring and dependable housekeeper to support clients in their homes in Oak Bay, British Columbia. This position is centered on non-medical in-home assistance that helps people stay comfortable, safe, and independent while receiving respectful and reliable support.

Key Duties

• Deliver attentive non-medical support in line with each client’s care plan.
• Provide companionship through conversation, reading, shared activities, and social interaction.
• Help support clients’ emotional health and mental engagement.
• Carry out light home cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and bathroom cleaning.
• Prepare meals as needed.
• Notice and share any changes in a client’s physical, emotional, or mental condition.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Keep records and required documentation complete and submitted on time.
• Take part in training sessions, team meetings, and ongoing learning opportunities.
• Follow confidentiality rules and use equipment safely and properly.
• Handle other related duties assigned from time to time.

What the Employer Is Looking For

• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or a willingness to maintain it.
• A Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check.
• Reliable transportation is helpful, and having a valid driver’s licence with insurance is an added advantage.
• A person who is punctual, dependable, and committed to quality client care.
• Comfortable working independently with little direct supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Genuine care for others, along with honesty and integrity.

Physical and Work Environment

This job involves regular physical movement, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and light lifting up to 12 kg / 25 lbs. Good manual dexterity and hand strength are required. There may also be exposure to bloodborne pathogens or infectious diseases.
