Home Care Worker

Overview

This role is suited to a compassionate care professional who supports older people to stay independent and well at home. The position is based in Sunshine Coast South and nearby locations such as Glenview, Caloundra, Buderim, Maroochydore and surrounding areas.

What you’ll do

You’ll provide a mix of domestic support, personal care and companionship to aged care clients in the community.

• Carry out household tasks such as tidying, bed making, floor cleaning, laundry and general home help.
• Prepare meals and assist with grocery shopping.
• Support clients with getting up, showering, dressing and starting the day.
• Help with medication prompts and administration support.
• Assist with mobility, therapy activities and everyday movement needs.
• Provide care for people with higher support needs, including dementia.
• Offer social, emotional and practical support during visits.
• Transport clients to appointments or community and lifestyle activities.
• Give informal carers time to rest and attend to other responsibilities.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate enjoys variety, delivers warm and reliable service, and builds trust with clients and their families. You should be able to work on your own, stay calm when plans change, and know when to seek guidance from a manager.

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Ageing, Disability or Individual Support, or higher.
• At least 6 months of experience in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with personal care, manual handling, hoist use and medication support.
• A current Australian driver’s licence.
• Your own insured and roadworthy vehicle.
