Overview
The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC), recognized as a Gold Level Veteran Friendly Employer by the Michigan Veteran's Affairs Agency, seeks a Healthcare Centralized Scheduler. MDOC employs around 1,500 veterans and active military personnel and offers numerous benefits supporting these employees and their families.
Role Summary
This role involves comprehensive clerical duties for the Patient Services Department, focusing primarily on managing appointment scheduling tasks. The candidate will be responsible for processing approved medical appointments, detailing schedules, and inputting this data into Electronic Health Records (EHR) and relevant databases under supervisory guidance. Note that the position is located within a maximum-security prison environment, involving potential prisoner interaction 100% of the time.
Qualifications
Education: Completion of high school or equivalent is typically required.
Experience Levels:
- General Office Assistant 5: No specific experience required.
- General Office Assistant 6: Minimum one year of administrative support experience.
- General Office Assistant E7: At least two years of administrative support experience, with one year at an intermediate level.
Certain positions require successfully passing a criminal background check.
Additional Information
